These are the specs

EAN40C12

Classifed as natural series
Acoustic sound set free. The Takamine Natural Series was conceived to give you the biggest and widest acoustic sound possible. Solid cedar tops, solid mahogany backs, a thin satin finish and no pickguard ñ anything that could possibly impede the vibration of the soundboard was purposely left out.

The theory works. Naturals are so alive with sound that they nearly jump out of your hands. The clean and simple approach of the Naturals has been imitated by other makers, but nothing yet has compared to the purity of style ñ and sound ñ of the original.

12 String Acoustic / Electric

Body Shape: NEX 12-String Cutaway
Rosette: Tinted wood rings
Top: Solid Cedar
Inlays: None
Back: Solid Mahogany
Sides: Mahogany
Fingerboard: Rosewood
Electronics: CT-4B
Tuners: Gold
Features: Scalloped bracing. Also available as left handed model.

Finishing:Satin Natural

Preamp: CT4B
A warm-sounding 3-band graphic with an extremely stable and accurate chromatic tuner. Great for non-standard and open tunings.

NEX BODY

This body is a signature Takamine design. The top has a pleasing, rounded profile that is narrow at the waist, yet broad behind the bridge creating a soundboard that offers a balanced frequency response with deep bass, clear treble, and a sweet, round midrange that projects well. The body carries the depth of a dreadnought to ensure a great level of volume.

The NEX has the feel of a small-bodied guitar yet yields impressive performance, and is an excellent accompaniment to the singer-songwriter, or the finger-style player.

Thanks for the comments stormage and agape_life. It is truly a very beatiful guitar like all the people says. I use it for my cellgroups.

There are quite cheap ones out there and expensives one. They are made in 3 countrys if i am not wrong. China, (Indonasia/korea can't remember which one) and Japan. Mine is made in japan.I brought it at davis and i tried the one that was made in japan but it is a EAN40C guitar 6 strings. The first time i strumed i quite liked the sound. So i decided to get the made in japan one and order it by faith as do not have enough money to buy a 1.7k guitar, so i waited for like 5 months and save plus used my bounus plus prayer. Then tat tat 5 months later i got my 12 strings. I was so happy and amazed that i wondered how did i manage to buy a 1.7k guitar and i know for sure it is through prayer. Really really thank god for his provision. (of course i borrow money from my mom first but returned it in 1 month!)

After 3 months i find that the guitar action is quite high so i went to lower the guitar action at luthermusic. They are great bunch of people down there. I thought that my saddle is other material instead of bone until the luither called me and inform me that my saddle is aldready a bone saddle. I really really thank god for his provision. And i loved it very much.

I was thinking to get the EAN40c as well. Then I looked at eBay. I was surprised by the people. It was because I saw a whole bunch of people selling their EAN40c and EG523sc which I wanted to get at that time.

But it turned out that I got my DSF48c from the Santa Fe series instead of the natural series from eBay, which only cost me a thousand in MINT condition.

I still have no idea why the people sell off their EAN40c. I think it sounds good. May be..... too good? so they want to share their goodness Laugh

yeah possibly. everyone has their taste and preferences, which sometimes do change in time. for instance, you could be a BIG fan of Taylor now but you might prefer the signature Martin tone over time.

cool-vibrations,

that's a piece of beauty there. Loved the grains and I am sure the sound must be fantastic!

Does the CT in the pre-amp stand for Cool Tube? Actually, very interested in the pre-amp of Takas with regard to the Cool Tube tech.

The CT4B preamp from Takamine is the older version non Tube, but good sounding too.
